Duality - Consumption
Having spent last 9 months minimizing my purchases and saving money to invest in a few projects, this Black Friday and Cyber Monday hype really got me thinking.
On one hand, we want to pay less for what we want and on another hand we are up in arms when a company pays pennies to small children making clothes in another country.
If we want fair pay, we need to understand that we need to stop demanding and expecting low prices. Maybe for once demand to have fair conversations with companies that sell products. Right now they have a reason to not pay because we demand low prices. If we paid fair prices for our purchases, not only a child sitting in another country would make fair pay but a woman sitting in a corporate office will get fair pay as well.
Will we ever stop and question our actions?
This is duality of consumerism.
